Rogue Squadron's Robot
For our first robot, we decided mathematcially we could score more points by dumping many balls at once in the scoring zone verses only a few balls in the high goal. So we set out to make a scoop that could hold 8 balls.
We also opted for an H-Drive Train to allow ease of movement from side to side. It also uses less motors.
Allows us to use less motors and move sideways easily.
Held 8 balls, but the front balls would fall out the side or through the scoop.
Reinforced sides and scoop to hold the 8 balls.
Final robot that earned us a spot at States!
Testing H Drive
R4 in action!
Before States we knew we would have to build a more competitive robot. So our team would like to introduce our new robot, RANCOR.
The maximum balls Rancor can hold is 24. The arm gear ratio is 15:1, allowing Rancor to lift a full scoop of balls, and it's all wheel drive, to allow Rancor to have more traction and be able to park on the ramp.
